[pp.au.general] Use of Mailing List vs Forum vs Wiki

My thoughts are that mailing lists are generally more focused while
the forums allow pretty much anyone without a true focus to vent their
opinions and ideas in a less formal manner. I find mailing lists to be
a great way to organise data, so it would probably be the preferred
medium of communication for the committees, or at least some of them.

I think the general stigma surrounding mailing lists is the antiquated
ideas of it. I think many forum-goers see it as an old, obsolete
method of communication, and prefer forums for that reason. I find
those PHP cruft piles to be very inefficient and annoying. Perhaps
when browsers can load Javascript and HTML faster than I can think, I
will call them efficient.

The arguments on the wiki are rather amusing, and will likely not be
seen by anyone other than those who talk part on the talk page (I was
one of them). Perhaps a function to link the forum to the talk page is
in order? For example, embedding it within the talk page, so on
creation of the talk page, it creates a new topic in a forum called
Wiki Page Discussions or something of that. Just an idea :).

On an off-topic note, I just finished my last ever HSC exam. Finally,
I am free! :D
