Sorry, (slightly) amusing aside - You, um, can't just say "no" in Irish.
 Irish *has no* simple "no" or "yes" words, unlike most languages.  You
can still say things _meaning_ "no", essentially, but you must say the
equivalent of e.g. "Do you drink coffee?"/"I do not drink [coffee]."

Whether this explains anything about irish polticians' astonishing
ability to avoid straight answers to simple questions I leave to your
imagination...
