[pp.int.general] ACTA

We are all aware that the spectre of the seemingly inevitable Anti-
Counterfeit Trade Agreement (ACTA) looms on the horizon - yet we have
no solid statement on it internationally (as far as I am aware
anyway). I believe this is something we should make some collective
noise about. Although there is some information available from
Wikileaks and other limited information provided by various discussion
papers and commentary, the process itself has been far from
transparent and democratic, despite the ramifications we can foresee
from the little information we do have - yet the scariest part is that
industry seems to have had unfettered input and access in its drafting.

To the end of formulating a joint PPI stance, I've kicked off the
beginning of a draft:

To condemn the process and intention re: our platform, and to demand
publication of the draft ACTA. Criticisms, suggestions, observations
in general?

It probably needs to be re-edited, and grammatically adjusted and
added to, but it is something we should do before weeks end, if not
sooner.

Regards

Rod
