ON HTTP://GMAIL.COM
*Settings/Forwarding and POP/IMAP*
POP Download Status: Enable POP for all mail
When messages are accessed with POP: /this depends on whether you want 
to keep webmail copies once you downloaded mail/
IMAP Access Status: Enable IMAP
