    I commented only on the economics. The political side is that the WIPO =
    as a (old) UN agency tries to put some counterweight on the scale to the =
    US-dominated World Trade Organisation, that imposed the "TRIPS =
    Agreement" on many nations. The deal is: more intellectual property vs. =
    easier acces to the world market.

It is a bad idea to describe anything with the term "intellectual property".
The fact that the WTO uses the term is a sign it is up to no good.

The name "TRIPS" is propaganda.  So as not to repeat the propaganda, I
call that treaty TRIPES: Trade-Restricting Impediments to Production,
Education and Science.  This name has the advantage of more clearly
stating the treaty's principal effects.
