I advise you to read about the history of copyright. First laws similar 
to copyright were not invented to pay the creator. They were invented to 
pay the publishers, especially the pressmen. Primary when the first 
copyright was invented (in Germany 1832), then the creators were 
included. Culture before has worked and developed very well without 
copyrights. Copyright has caused, that culture since then has more and 
more been privatized. Culture has the role to teach our children. But 
copyright causes, that culture is produced to earn money, not to teach 
children well. I don't think that copyright is a good idea in general. 
But i agree that if there are copyrights, then the focus should be on 
the creator and the benefit to society, not the publishers.
