Even if true, it's not a particularly convincing argument. It's possible
to make any production cost any insane amount of money, and even to have
quite fun while spending all that money in waste. The business challenge
is to make things sell for more than they cost, not to make things cost
insanely much to produce in the first place.

Today, bedroom music productions (made on a hobby budget in terms of
time and money, that is, produced with the time and money left over from
a daytime job) are not only possible, but common.
