I think that this discussion about voting systems is premature since:
1. At the conference we decided that PPI will not be a political
organization, thus will not take decisions that will affect its members.
Maybe some will want such a PPI but it will never happen.
2. Talking about a European PPI like a political party and make comparisons
with other European examples will be out of the question for a simple
reason: there is no Europe wide political party. Even in European Parliament
they have groups wich unite parties by similarities, and the groups do not
decide what individual parties do.
People, please do not keep dreaming about a PPI who will decide for the
national PP parties.
The UN model cannot be applied since their decision can sometimes be
enforced by means unavailable to a PPI.
At the conference someone suggested that we were building a new Socialist
International. Even if it isn't so, the model of the Socialist International
might be useful for those who want to see worldwide political organization
wich in some degree functions.
Yours,
Cristian
