Ahoy, mateys!
Good news from Barcelona! This week we just got officialized, so we are on
time to run for the Catalan Parliament elections, in one month and a half
(Nov 29th). To enter the Parliament we need 80-90k votes (3%), that would
give us 3 seats.
We lost a lot of time due to excessive bureaucracy. Among other things, we
had to change the name (from "Partit Pirata" to "Pirates de Catalunya"). But
well, we don't have time to complain, as we're working really hard to meet
the deadlines. After getting the official
status<http://pirata.cat/bloc/?p=364>,
we opened the affiliation <http://pirata.cat/bloc/?p=407>, published the
electoral programme <http://pirata.cat/bloc/?page_id=425> and in a few days
we will open the Direct Democracy system <https://xifrat.pirata.cat/> (a
tuned IdeaTorrent ;)
Anyway, I'll ask you for a favor: please promote us!
Our twitter/facebook accounts are less than 2 months old, but quite big
compared to the other Catalan political parties:
- http://socvot.dario.im/facebook (1st has 6604 fans, we have 2696)
- http://socvot.dario.im/twitter (1st has 2075 fans, we have 494)
Compared to the other pirate parties, and given that in Catalonia we are ~7
million, our numbers are not bad at all:

I'm asking you to post our link in your Facebook wall:
> Support http://www.facebook.com/pirata.cat
Of course, you are welcome to post your links on our wall ;)
On Twitter, please make a "Follow Friday" to us. Something like:
> #FF @partit_pirata http://pirata.cat
Finally, two questions:
- How to we get @IntPirateNews to follow @partit_pirata? Who manages it?
- It would be GREAT for us to be the Pirate Party of the week when we start
our electoral campaign, in a few weeks. Who should we ask for it?
Should you propose any other way of helping us, we would be most grateful :)
Cheers!
