be REALLY concerned what is currently going on in the US;

This is at least as bad as ACTA in my opinion.
Keep in mind:
1) In a country where free speech has been held high once so high,
it's a terrible sign that such a bill is even discussed for more than
one day
2) The US has currently still (directly or indirectly) a relatively
high level of control over crucial Internet infrastructure
3) The US has a good history where they try to spread their great
legislative ideas over all other countries (of course, they're
probably not the only one there, but they have political means which
they are not so reluctant to use)
