There is a problem though, Samir.
You're quite right we had issues over the location LAST time as well,
but they weren't the only issues. Another issue was the constitution of
the very body you're now appealing to. A Body made up of people who were
physically present last time, because of the less-than-open machinations
of the then-board. So if you expect a court, which was packed to be
entirely Euro-centric by it's election methods, to suddenly turn around
and want to host the next meeting OUTSIDE Europe. What's the benefit for
them? It might mean they can't go, and so would have to participate as
3rd class citizens (if they could participate at all, since it was
absolutely PATHETIC at best last time)
PPI is a joke these days. After the last meeting, there were SEVEN
members of the board. I just checked the list of members about 20
minutes ago, and there's now FOUR. Two have gone in the last month
(including one of the co-chairs!) with no notice given to anyone at all.
So much for transparency.
PPI died about 18 months ago, under it's own bureaucratic inertia, and
the self-interests of it's so-called 'officers'. What was supposed to be
a way of communicating and assisting parties, has turned into a display
of e-peen where nothing gets done, and the only communication methods
that actually work, are the ones outside the control of PPI. Says it all
really.
PPI Could be saved, but it will require people who are actually
committed TO PPI and not to their own countries, with PPI either an
afterthought, or a way to boost their own importance nationally.
