[pp.int.general] Why is the pp.int.general ML is moderated?

Ahoy,

Pirates had approached me, and asked, why they are not allowed to  
subscribe
to this mailing list. It needs currently a moderator approval to be  
subscribed,
but new users are waiting already for more then a week....

this is strange and should be changed.

If moderation is really required, i suggest to nominate more
moderators, cause right now there are only two - Rick Falkvinge himself,
who is  probably very busy and have not much time to moderate the
new user requests, and Richie Olsson, who is PP-SE CTO and to whom
probably the same time restriction apply.

For the record: actually we have 485 subscribed emails addresses
here on the list. - by all possible means, the moderation need more
than just two people, if it is intended at all... (I think it should  
be so,
that the spam-accounts needs to be pruned fast, so we will need
someone who is able to do this, if we open this list up...)
