    This is slightly off topic, but at least in Finland and Sweden, publishing
    private communications if you have been the sender or recipient (unless an
    NDA has been agreed on BEFORE the communication happens) is completely
    legal, but in USA it is illegal.

It is a matter of netiquette, not law.

I don't think it is illegal in the US.  It can infringe copyright, but
in cases where it is political rather than art, you would have a fair
use defense.
