    That consumes not only my time but also that of someone else, and instead
    of big corporations makes me dependent on other people.

We are always dependent on the other people around us.  That is what
it means to say we live in a community.  It is not something to avoid.

Thus, the choice is to push others into your community (not just
yourself) into surrendering to someone's nonfree software, or depend
on the rest of your community.

							    Trustwise that
    obviously is a much better choice, time-managing (and
    time-independency)-wise it has clear disadvantages.

This isn't an urgent matter of life or death.  We can afford a little
delay to do avoid a long-term harmful effect.
