[pp.int.general] Basic income - how does that fit into the pirate ideology?

Speaking of GNU/Linux, this is another great way in which a Pirate
sponsored UBI strategy can remain clearly within Pirate ideology. The
cost that government organizations could save on licensing by
switching to a GNU GPL licensed distro, if they haven't already, could
help fund a UBI scheme.

I've also read about organizations and institutions reducing costs by
using bittorrent.

Couldn't Pirate make a contribution by proposing that these cost
cutting strategies be included and applied toward any UBI plan that is
endorsed by Pirates? There's nothing wrong with killing two or more
birds with one stone.
