<pre wrap="">Sometimes, people tell me "you can't do that", or "how do you justify this in light of this particular law or case history".
I always respond to them, "You're talking to me as if I were a lawyer, as if I were interested in interpreting law. I'm not. I think the law is plain wrong, and therefore, I am a politician. I am doing this to CHANGE the law. <b>What the law says today is not relevant</b>."

I think that there are two prisms for a change:<br>
<br>
- evolutionary change: that which uses the current state of things as
starting point -i.e., observing current legal framework- to change the
current state of things -totally or partially-<br>
- revolutionary change: that which dismiss current state of things to
change it<br>
<br>
I prefer the evolutionary approach mostly because I think that, to
legitimate the new regime, one has to respect legality -even to change
it-; otherwise, how would be able to expect others, tomorrow, not
dismissing our changes by saying "<i>the changes made by PPI are not
relevant</i>"?<br>
<br>
Which is your prism, Rick?<br>
<blockquote cite="mid:4955377B.2050007@piratpartiet.se" type="cite">
<pre wrap="">If the <b>coalition we're a part of</b> tries that</pre>
</blockquote>
You assume there will be "<i>a coalition we're a part of</i>", i.e.,
that we'll enter into a government coalition with Greens and/or
Liberals and/or Socialists and/or etc, etc. As far as I know there is
no PPI agreement on that.<br>
<blockquote cite="mid:4955377B.2050007@piratpartiet.se" type="cite">
<pre wrap="">That is <b>my mindset</b>, and that<b> has to be the mindset</b>.</pre>
</blockquote>
:-O Does it have to? I mean, I think that PPI mindset has to be agreed
by PPI party members; otherwise, it would be easier having you briefing
us about what to do, what to think, what to defend, etc ... easier yet
not acceptable.<br>
<br>
Am I mistaken? I think I'm not; <b>I hope I'm not</b>. Regards,<br>
