Conference in Brussels!

Hi Samir,

I think a PPI meeting in Brussels is a
excellent idea, the place symbolizes cooperation (EU and beyond) and the
timing is shortly after the EU election. We need a place to meet, I am
thinking we could ask through FOSDEM.org that have good connections with the
ULB university with huge conference halls or perhaps Christian Engström (PP.se
EU elected) can book something in the EU building or perhaps pp.be have some connections.

It is VERY
important that at least ONE country PP representative is dropping by from all
countries part of EU at least. It would be nice with PP representatives from
US, Brazil etc, but I tend to think it may be out of their budget to drop by
so streaming the conference with interaction over IRC for example would be a
basic requirement.

We need to make a list of the main topics to discuss
such as creating a firm organization/foundation out of PPI etc, each topic has
to be limited in time in order to not drift away and fail to come up with
anything concrete. I.e. we need clear goals on what we aim to accomplish with
PPI and spend the time to discuss howto reach those goals. Due to the
limitation of time having the conference in a language that everyone
understands such as English and later translate the meeting notes to several
languages seems logical to me.

I'd also like to see that we invite some
representatives from organizations that share some of our goals such as FSF,
EFF and EDRI etc, what common goals do we have, how can we work together with
those organizations to reach our goals?

Ok, that is my initial two
cents about this conference, I live in Rotterdam so I intend to attend and
would like to help out in any way I can!

- Nicolas
