When I first heard of the request made by the PPNL i was skeptical too, and I'm still not convinced that this was the best way to procede, but I do have to admit that opening a bank account for a political party is not as easy as it seems. (Germany excluded, but there I had to wait 3 weeks to open a private bank account...)<div>
<br></div><div>I do believe that the first and foremost goal of PPI is to help local Pirate Parties and thus this is a first step in helping one party in need. The request was made on short notice and it is probably the reason why there was no big public discussion about it, but as I said, PPI should help the parties. Even now the people who where opening the PPI account will be privately liable for the transactions, if I understood the legal implications correctly, because it is an account for an "association de fait", a group of people without statutes or anything the like. So I think they will keep an eye on the transactions. PPI can not be held liable because PPI does not own money!</div>
