I think pirates all over the world have to be extra careful in their reaction to this, as these are methods we should clearly condemn (especially considering the private communication that has also been made public). We have to make it very clear to the public that we want to achieve our goals through legal means, ie political pressure and raising public awareness.</div>

One of the law firms that has been sending threatening letters to people<br>
asking for money over copyright infringement claims accidentally made<br>
its email records available last week - these have now been published<br>
via tPB etc.<br>

The emails allegedly contain precise details of how this sort of process<br>
works, legal and technical comments and insight into the money and<br>
attitudes involved. They should be of interest to anyone looking into<br>
this sort of activity, particularly in the UK, Germany and now the US<br>
(and the emails indicate this lawyer has been involved in all three<br>
countries).<br>

The lawyer in question is already facing disciplinary action here (and<br>
there are emails indicating his dismissive attitude to that) but I would<br>
imagine this will cause quite a fuss within the legal community -<br>
although so far the mainstream media have been ignoring it.<br>
