Might be because they're nothing to do with any actual pirate party.
"PIRATE stands for people in reform against traditional elitism, and
Lewallen said the party?s focus is on reform and opportunity in student
government. He hopes to get more students involved and facilitate
communication between student groups and WVU?s administration, rather
than having SGA act as a liaison. "
That's why. It's a name with a jolly roger symbol for them.

Yeah, thanks. But I think I know what Rick means, they are taking away
little by little, and we get used to things that shouldn't be, and
that only helps to set the bases up for the next cut.
But for example in my case here in Danmark, I really don't know what
to do, I don't mean using DNS's or webproxies, I mean what to do to
attack the problem at its core. Because it is taking liberties away
from people, but I feel like I would be one person against a machine,
I'm kinda lost at that...
The Pirate Party of Hesse (subdivision of Germany) has decided on
its last general assembly to host a DNS server with DNSSEC extension.

And I also could imagine that it will answer to more ports than just the
standard "53" one.

But, due to limited resources it will take at least 6 weeks till this
server will go live.
