Hopefully Pirate Times will be able to complement PPI in some of the parts you mentioned. I believe atm that we are expecting too much from too few people. Basically the PPI consists of all the member countries and people in those parties but right now it's mostly the board working on the issues arising. Moving some parts of the expectations away will allow PPI to spend their time more focused.

So for people that want to discuss and learn from others I invite you to write a guest-post (or become a part of team) for Pirate Times. E.g. sharing your campaign strategies in the form of an article would disseminate info to other parties and bring interesting feedback in the comments.

The means are there, people just needs to take a more active role instead of passively waiting for a PPI board to "solve everything".

Kindly,

It's no surprise to many who know me that I haven't been happy with PPI
for a while. It's not as much anyone in particular as it is with the
idea of PPI. Who are we to dictate who is and isn't a Pirate Party? What
is and isn't a country? Or even solve internal squabbles within someone
else' party?

What I see PPI providing is: A platform for pirate parties around the
world to discuss and learn from each other to help build the pirate brand.

This can be done without PPI, we are all familiar enough with the
internet and many of us are even on the same IRC network (which is not
managed by PPI). When we need something internationally we can come
together to form it. We don't need some body with elected officials and
things. When we have conferences we should be holding panels and do
networking... and we don't even need PPI to hold a conference. PPUK held
a conference last year, and it was everything I would want from one. A
bit small (and was, of course, targeted at UK members), but if that had
been the PPI official meeting place -- it would have been far more
productive for everyone.

I gladly welcome peoples ideas as to why PPI is needed (things that
can't be addressed by us simply coming together internationally using
the internet). Though I have a strong feeling that no one will be able
to do that.

This is not our resignation, just a statement of abstention on all PPI
related votes, conferences, meetings, discussions, etc.
