Since this discussion obviously does have lots of emotions and ties
and definitions of various kinds around it, it is even more important
that nothing the Pirate Party publically says or does can in any way
be tied to that aforementioned discussion.
Of course, it is rather difficult not to get those ties since Pirates
do *not* agree with the way the United States made immaterial property
their primary income of state.
The term "anti-americanism" is today not used so much as a statement
regarding someone's sympathies for or against America, the US, its
economy, movies, people, life-style or president, as it is used simply
to shut up opponents. Once your labelled "anti" and "opposed" the
American dream, you are also, consequently, opposed to democracy and
freedom.
It's a very dirty tactics of debate, but that's how it looks.
Nice tip: Great Britain has several laws that are almost identical to
the US ones, and they do not have any ugly anti-terms associated with
them. Most of them are described on wikipedia too.
