tried to establish has gone flaming, and to say the least, we felt
(and still feel) hurt by so much hostility. However, the only piece of
news we eventually heard, as it happens, was that the "Parti Pirate
Fran=E7ais Canal Historique" was going to be present at the Berlin
Conference. (As the official French Pirate Party, that is.)
Optimistic point of view: "great! finally we'll be able to meet them,
talk, discuss things, and in the end get closer to each other!"
Pessimistic point of view (mine): "err, this is gonna be more than
ackward. You can't demand anyone who hates you to suddenly have
friendly feelings for you; plus, there's probably gonna be some kind
of a competition for being recognized by the other Parties..."
Let's be honest: for a couple of days, we have been very close to say
"no way. We won't make it, plus it will be much cheaper for us."
However, since we weren't there in June, we'd really like to meet you
guys, talk with pirates from all around Europa and get to know you.
So, just take this (long) message as a disclaimer; if (let's hope not,
but still) things get ugly, you will know the reasons, what is at
stake between us, etc.
I'm worried.
Hope this explains why.
Cheers,
Valentin
