Hi,
The problem with the Telecom Package is that all the controversy about
amendment 138 has made everybody focus on that, and forget about the
many other bad issues in the Telecom Package.

Having read these amendments, I can tell you that I support them all.
Some of them I think are extremely important (like re-instating
amendment 166).
These amendments have not yet been formally proposed, as there is a
better chance that they get passed if we get more of the politicians to
propose them. They will be proposed shortly before the deadline for
proposing amendments on April 29th.
The amendments were put forward by the GUE/NGL group, and I just
received information that the IND/DEM group are also behind the
amendments. Most likely we can also get the greens to stand behind the
amendments, and if that happens, it is not unlikely that we can get ALDE
and PSE to stand behind them. It that happens I will be very surprised
if these amendments are not passed in the final vote on May 5th.
So now is the time to act for the european PPs. The politicians know
that the elections are soon and that we can raise hell for them if they
do not support citizen's rights.
We have two deadlines: Before April 29th, we should get as many
politicians as possible to stand as proposers of these amendments.
Before May 5th, we should get as many politicians as possible tto vote
for these amendments.
You can find contact information for the politicians from your country

Best Regards,
Ole Husgaard.
