The precise boundary of "noncommercial" does require attention.

For instance, suppose you personally want to print 50 copies of a book
and hand them out.  You won't make any money from this; on the
contrary it will cost you money.  This is clearly noncommercial.  But
it is not feasible to make these copies on your own printer.  It
certainly cannot bind them nicely.  So you need to use a commercial
copy shop.  Is the copy shop allowed to make these copies for you?

For you, distyributing the copies is noncommercial.  For the copy
shop, making them is commercial.

Suppose you just want to make one copy, and you don't have equipment
to do so.  Is the copy shop allowed to make the one copy for you?
