The prohibition of "child pornography" is dishonest because it applies
to people who are sexually mature, and of an age at which it is normal
for people to have sex.
The public thinks that only perverts will be punished for "child
pornography", but this is false because the law twists the meaning of
the word "child". In the US, the law that supposedly prohibits "child
pornography" applies to adolescents 17 years old. These people can
legally have sex and even marry, in some states; but if they take
pictures of themselves having sex, they can be (and sometimes have
been) convicted of "child pornography".
Normal men are not attracted sexually to children, but they are surely
attracted to the sexually mature teenagers whom this law labels as
"children". The perverted criteria of this law define all normal
males as "perverts".
I don't know whether such laws in Europe apply to the same age range.
Perhaps they are more sensible.
Aside from this, it is clear that laws against "child pornography",
even if they cover only children and not sexually mature teenagers,
provide a great excuse for censorship. We have seen in countries such
as Denmark and Australia that this censorship is frequently extended
to other things once it established.
