I have to beg to differ. I recently visitied several discussions with
guys from indipendente labels and according to their words, at least
german indie artists receive a pretty fair share from the money (about
10-20%). If you do all the work around the release yourself, you can
increase the value even more - but have a lot more work.

The only musicians getting really less money are newcomers at major
labels. Muscians who were under contract at the labels confirmed the
figures.

Of course this may differ in other countries, but we should try not to
generally abolish the labels...
