I think you got a wrong impression from the aims of such an TF. It
has not a goal of building a bureaucratic framework, but rather
to organize the relevant people into a communication structure.

indeed, but there is a long term preparation needed for setting up
a coordinating common plant for the next eu elections. Also, there
is a theoretical chance of pirate parties in 7 eu-countries getting
their representatives elected into national or regional parliaments
earlier than 2014. This would also make an european pirate
party eligible for foundation and european funding. Since this can
happen unexpected, it is better to have some people prepared.

I have been approached by a group of german pirates who was
about to set up such an preparation committee all by themselves.
I argued, that by putting such a task force under the PPI brand, it
would easier reach the pirates in other countries and better coordinate
the efforts.

Working with Europe issues is a complicated and far fetched matters.
I absolutely agree, that we need more experts on european lawmaking
and policy. Luckily, my Co-Chairman is a student of european law ;-)
but this is of cause not sufficient for us to get in the game.

As i said, i think, you have a wrong impression, of what the focus of
the Task Force is. In my experience the best way in becoming an expert
in a given matter is to get yourself surrounded with people who are
sharing your goals and also who already have achieved expertise.
I think that the PP-EU task force can provide for both goals, if there
are
enough people to join it.
