[pp.int.general] DMCA takedown against our Pirate Party logo (which is my own original creation)

Twitter, Inc. is a US company and therefore subject to US jurisdiction.
I understand that New Zealand is a sovereign state, and not subject to
DMCA statutes. However, you may still have the ability to file a
counter-notice sans-attorney. In the attached takedown notice, I don't
see any provisions necessitating an agent.

If you know the person, again, I implore that you deal with it
internally. PPI eviscerated any negotiating powers in the 2010
conference. You're unwilling to take the situation into your own hands,
you're externalizing drama, and possibly being as obnoxious as the
person sending the DMCA. In short: file a counter-notice and deal with
the situation head on, or stop bitching.
