While you should source anything with reliable sources, writing an  
article about yourself
is very well a conflict of interest, since you rarely would for  
example put criticism in it.
Referring to Wikipedia guidelines about writing about yourself:

it is

"Writing an autobiography on Wikipedia is strongly discouraged, unless  
your writing has been approved by other editors in the community.  
Editing a biography about yourself should only be done in clear-cut  
cases."
