He was not elected, but got "only" 20%. It was in the city of
Shumerlya, and this is located in the center of the European part of
russian federation. It is outside of European Union, but still on the
European continent.

No point in making the achievement of the Canadian Pirate Party any
smaller. Those Students don't share anything with the pirate movement
but a name. But so does also the Pitsburgh Pirates (a US baseball
team) Croyden Pirates (UK baseball), Portland Pirates (hockey), East
Carolina Pirates and Hampton Pirates (university sports teams),
Cornish Pirates (rugby), East Kilbride Pirates (UK football team),
Orlando Pirates (South Africa football), Essex Pirates (basketball),
Pool Pirates (UK racing team), or the football club of Bristol
"Rovers" who are nicknamed Pirates.
it would be of no sense pointing to the sports trophies of those
"Pirates", even if they happened to be outside of europe.
What come to my mind, is that the Pirate Party in Peru got two people
elected to the Commission for the Development of the Information
Society (CODESI) http://www.codesi.gob.pe/
