In that case it should be kept that way, and I see things going towards 
the exact opposite.

Two problems thought:

"Grey imports". "Regional consumption".

Data protection is not protected as such, but through regional 
consumption it is indirectly protected. Trade secrets I guess, since 
they only apply over the borders of private enterprises.
