I agree with that point of view.
Choosing the right words is not only a matter of rethoric or dialectic, it
is way to stand for a clear opinion.
May I suggest this text from Dr Stallman :

By using the "opponents" vocabulary, you get into his own field, which is
very dangerous because he knows it better than you. This is a basic of
media communication developed in Schopenhauer's "The art of being always
right".
When you want to have a safe discussion and the other party is getting too
confident, be sure your implied reaction means "I agree with you" or
"You're stronger than me", even if you totally disagree and propose
relevant arguments.
To avoid this, choose the scope which is more comfy for you, the one
you're used to and try to bring your opponent in this scope. Making your
music freely available and shareable is absolutely opposite to what the
industry focus on. You follow a XXIst century logic while they think
exactly the same since the XIXth century.
They can't be right if you're using diametrically opposed languages.
Concerning the close (intimate?) relationship between media, government
and industry, "Understanding Power" and "Manufacturing Consent" by Noam
Chomsky are very informative.
