That is called p2p production as well. Chech out p2pfoundation.net, they perfectly.explain this cultural, social, economic and politic transformation.

In fact PP-Cat is using all that topics but the economic one, as it os probably still too early to get more attention than slepticism.

In any case, I personally like this topic, but we, as many other pirates around, apply direct democracy to anythung outside the 'pirate principles+human rights'.

Including economics into our philosophy can be quite inconvenient to us, as 3 out of 4 pirateshere, became pirates due to our defense of direct/liquid democracy.

We defend the inclusion of the pirate ideary+human rights as the minimum point where every democrat can fit. Including economics would end our strategy.

However, I would like to see pp's promoting these economic topics, not in their statutes but in conferences and barcamps, so, with our movement, not with our parties.

Cheers!

Dear colleagues,

after long thinking, I have arrived at the conclusion that Pirate
Parties may be in a unique situation to catalyze change from today's
industrial-age way of measuring value.

In today's terms, GNU/Linux and Wikipedia count as nonvalue and
nonproduction, but somebody slacking off on a paid job counts as
production.

Contributions to industry-fundamental components on a global scale by
world-class skilled craftsmen don't count towards production simply
because the craftsmen weren't paid by somebody to do it. That is INSANE.

I am doing a bit of thinking in this blog post, and would welcome your
take on the subject.

Cheers,
Rick
