Surely it would make sense for Pirates to take every opportunity to
align themselves with the protesters' demands (in so far as those
demands are consistent with pirate principles, which as far as I know
they are).

Pirates should use this opportunity to themselves as the vehicle by
which the protesters can get their demands enacted into law.
