Hi, I'm from Switzerland ;)
In my opinion, there is an economic war going on in the background of this
affair and the countries who support such whistle-blowers do not have clean
intentions. The secret concerning the clients in Switzerland comes from
WW2, to protect Jews and other political dissidents from death penalty they
would risk if they put money outside Germany or France. Nowadays, okay, the
war is over, the fascists are down. But anyway, I do prefer to support
whistle-blowers who relay information about what governments do wrong than
the ones who hand over private data of citizen to governments.
Furthermore, the very rich people don't choose Switzerland to hide most of
their money, they do prefer to use the anglo-saxon 'trusts' where the
identity of the people owning the money is really well hidden.
So, I'm really not sure we should support this guy, it seems he worked as a
spy in Lebanon and that he is already protected by the french police..
