the official statement of the Pirate Party of Russia:

"This court decision is a clear illustration of the degradation of
bureaucratic technologies, which manifestates itself in totalitary
convulsions when the situation becomes critical. When a state reacts so
strongly to symbolic actions, it destroys itself. What has yesterday
been a stupid demonstration now becomes an act of art.

2 years of prison for such an act is to much. It is clear that the act
was not for of criminal justice. It is unclear whether the act was one
for administrative justice. It is clear that those who wanted profiling
received just that.

But do we have to hear of Pussy Riot till March 4th, 2014?!"

The Russian original:

Данное решение суда является наглядной иллюстрацией деградации
бюрократических технологий, выражающихся в тоталитарных конвульсиях в
критических ситуациях. Когда государство реагирует так жестоко на
символические акции оно губит само себя. Вчера глупая выходка теперь
стала художественным актом.

2 года за подобное действо - это слишком. Очевидно, что поступок не
является уголовным, не очевидно, что данный проступок является
административным, очевидно, что те, кто хотели пиара - его получили.

Но что, мы теперь вынуждены будем слышать про Pussy Riot еще до 4 марта
2014 года?!
