While it is true that US is taking a lot of liberty of sacrificing some human
rights in the name of "security", I never felt been treated like a criminal
on my numerous visits to US. Most of the humiliating treatments are not
distinguish of nationality. (The Naked-Scanners are for everyone - and
in other countries, like UK (manchester airport) you cant even opt out).

Of cause, there is a risk that your electronic equipment will be searched.
Better having the harddrive encrypted and an own backup on a private
cloud.

But then, this risk goes for a lot of countries. The US Visa Process for
most european countries is on the plus side is transparent and quick.
