I strongly object to naming ideology and pointless squabbles the same.

That lots of people wrongly think of ideology as a restriction of freedom,
is not a valid argument.
Ideology means nothing more or les then 'the system of ideas'. I prefer to
see the ideology as a platform, a guide even, towards freedom in infinety.
And properly understood by everybody would avoid pointless squabbles. :p
