There are other scenarios too. I use dropbox for a reason. Stuff I want
to work on at multiple computers is one. othertimes temporary stuff I
want to share is another.
A third is as a backup. I've lost plenty of hard drives over the last
few years, and all my essential stuff is put there too (with encryption
for sensitive stuff) just in case my hard drive fails.

There's involuntary deletion as well to consider.
