The US military is proud of its nuclear-powered ships; it does not try
to conceal them.  It acknowledges many other nuclear facilities too.

This does not mean it has no secret facilities, but the claim that the
US military generally seeks to conceal its nuclear facilities and
would support civilian nuclear power as a smokescreen is clearly
refuted by these facts.

The military might have promoted nuclear power for other reasons,
such as generating plutonium or creating a favorable attitude towards
nuclear power.
