[pp.int.general] Brazilian participation in PPI

Hi,

There cannot be any concern in being a member of PPI, which is a political International, and represent the interest of its member in the international matters. In no case will PPI be able to dictate anything back to its members. Political parties should be independent in their political process and only be "subordinate" to their respective voters.

There are several political Parties in Brazil who are members of political internationals:

* Partido Democrático Trabalhista (PDT) is member of Socialist International (SI)
* Democratas (DEM) is member of Centrist Democrat International (CDI) and of International Democrat Union (IDU) and Christian Democrat Organization of America (ODCA) and Union of Latin American Parties (UPLA)
* Partido da Social Democracia Brasileira (PSDB) is an observer member of CDI and ODCA
* Partido Verde do Brasil (PV) is member of Global Greens (GG)

Some other major political parties however do not have any international affiliations, like PMDB, PP or PT.

The Statutes of PPI follows the structure and overall intent of other political internationals, so I am very positive, that an affiliation with PPI will never be a problem in a democratic country.

sincerely,

We know that we work bottom up and not top down, as the swarm and free internet should be, but the problem is how to communicate this to the outside over there.
