Nowadays, more than a few multinationals are bigger than more than
a few states
That enables those multinationals to get states to obey them.
However, it is still the states that have the armies and send armed
thugs to patrol the streets. If the multinationals kill people, it is
murder, and if they can get away with murder, it is because a state
protects them. And states, as we see in the US example, can make
excuses for assassinations.
