Hello,
sorry for this message, I know this is not an help ML for the english
language, but I'm translating the Draft C of the Manifesto to italian:

http://int.piratenpartei.de/Pirate_Manifesto_Draft_C

I have some problems translating this: "To this end, we do establish these
Pirate Parties around the world, and state our common purpose in this our
manifesto of action, so that society will not collapse as people grub for
whatever they can grab now, without thought or care for the future."

In particular the piece I have problems with is: "so that society will not
collapse as people grub for whatever they can grab now, without thought or
care for the future.".

What does "grub" mean in this context? I have problems even understanding if
it's a noun or a verb. In the former case would it be in the sense of larva?
In the latter, some rarely used form of past tense of "to grab"? (but it
should be "grabbed").
