Angie, I wouldn't be insulted if you used my first name. It's rather that
when you use two thirds of my surname I very much begin to doubt the
sincerity of the gesture. Allow me to elaborate on naming conventions. In
the west we write from left to right, hence the first name name mentioned
is what we refer to as a 'first name', likewise the last name mentioned is
what we refer to as a 'surname'. Thus if the name presented to you would be
'Thijs Markus', the first name would be 'Thijs' and the surname 'Markus'.
But Angie, you can't say we never tried.
