"You could argue that 7 people all agreeing on wanting to do this deal
DO have some form of internal democracy (on the "liquid democracy" page
they say they do liquid democracy in their facebook page)."
Yes, you could. As long as they maintain that democracy, sure.
"You mean the pirate signet is free for use by crooks and PPI is willing
to fail in its proposition to bring forward a worldwide pirate movement
because it can't denounce a political abuse of its symbols?"
I said the contrary - PPI accepts member organisations who have
internal democracy and who agrees with the political criteria. I would
be surprised if the PPI was "willing to fail" in anything. I should
mention by now, though, that I am not a member in the PPI, I'm just an
informal observer interested in how the PPI works. I don't speak for
anyone.
"It's not a question of copyright.. it's a question of identity.
We have a right to defend our political identity, anywhere on the
planet."
"our political identity"? I for one invite anyone to join the Pirate
Movement, as long as that person or organisation agrees with our
fundamental values. A hallmark of a good political party is willingness
to change when confronted with new arguments, and the lack of that is
something we often criticise in other parties. The movement should
always be open to new people and new ideas.
