I've seen that transparency is mentioned as one of the reasons for the
PPDE troubles.
I can understand that it seems cleaner to keep the discussions closed,
and that there are cases where you need to discuss something privately
- but at least in Poland all political parties are subjects to the
Polish equivalent of Freedom of Information Act - and thus all party
documents are effectively public (there must be some restrictions
related to the privacy laws - I am not sure how much that covers).
Other political parties will have to live with that as well (and are
probably much less prepared for this).
